biography
Dr. La Forgia uses quantitative and qualitative methods to study the business strategies of healthcare organizations. This includes research into the impact of mergers and acquisitions on the cost and quality of health care. She is also interested in how information asymmetries and incentives can influence the behavior of health care providers. Dr. La Forgia received her PhD in applied economics and management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her BA (Honors) in Economics and Mathematics from Swarthmore College. Prior to Wharton, she worked in Washington, DC as a policy analyst for the Quantitative Economics and Statistics Group of Ernst and Young.
