Die Humanities War and Peace Initiative (HWPI) promotes the study of war and peace from the perspective of humanities scholars in conversation with colleagues from all over Colombia and the world.
This initiative is generously endorsed by President Bollinger and aims to encourage creative thinking on the critical issue of war with the ultimate goal of maintaining a more peaceful world.

Winner of the HWPI scholarship
The HWPI supports a wide range of activities, including individual grants, new academic collaborations, projects and events within existing interdisciplinary and collaborative structures, teaching, public relations and programming, performance and exhibition, and ongoing dialogue in other forms.
Winner of the PhD Research Fellowship
Every spring, the Department of Humanities in the Arts and Sciences awards summer research grants for doctoral projects as part of the Humanities War and Peace Initiative.
