Michael L. Fox

Michael L. Fox is Assistant Professor of Business Law in the School of Business at Mount Saint Mary College in Orange County, New York; and is the coordinator of the Business Graduate (MBA) program. He teaches courses in the bachelor's degree in business administration and in the MBA program. Professor Fox received his J.D. from Columbia, where he was the Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and the article editor of the Columbia Business Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University, Phi Beta Kappa, and summa cum laude, with a major in economics and a minor in biology. A pre-academic legal practitioner, Fox was classified by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV Preeminent. He is licensed in New York State, the US District Courts for the southern, eastern, and northern districts of New York, the US Second District Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He served as a trainee lawyer for the Hon. Lawrence E. Kahn, US District Judge for the Northern District of New York; worked as litigation attorney at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP in Manhattan; and then was Associate, Senior Counsel, then Partner and Litigation Managing Attorney at Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP in New York's Hudson Valley. Fox is the author of Primer for an Evolving eWorld (Kendall Hunt Publishing Co. 2019) and A Guide to Diversity & Inclusion in the 21st Century Workplace (N.Y. St. Bar Assoc. Publ. 2020). He is also the author or co-author of articles and CLEs and has written at symposia and CLE programs on federal civil litigation, attorney secrecy and work results, electronic discovery, evidence, professional responsibility and ethics, labor law, and counseling for law students. Fox also co-hosts the NYSBA podcast Gold / Fox: Non-Billable. It airs twice a month and the first season ran from September to December 2019. When he's not in a scientific or professional career, he's also an avid traveler, having visited 28 countries and territories on four continents as well as 35 US states to date.
