Please note:

  • Support: Although Windows 7 is available for installation through our contract with Microsoft, CUIT does not support Windows 7. If you need help with this software after installing it on a home computer, please contact a third-party provider in your area.
  • Applications: Currently, most management applications are certified to run on Windows 7.
  • Installation: Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise download permissions are generally limited to university officers, support staff, and faculty, with exceptions for certain graduate / professional students at CUIMC and Business School. All students should have the Microsoft-Softwareportal for MS downloads on personal devices. If you do not have authorization, you will not be able to download the installer and you will be directed to a page with additional information.

How to Download and Install Microsoft Windows 7

  1. Please make sure that your computer meets the necessary requirements Requirements for the installation of Windows 7 Enterprise .
  2. Download the ISO image (UNI registration required):
    • Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 32 (2,3 GB)
    • Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64 (2,9 GB)
  3. Save the ISO image to your hard drive and make a note of where you saved it.
  4. From ISO-Image windows7-32.iso or windows7-64.iso must be recorded on a blank, writable DVD. Please follow the instructions of your burning program to record the ISO onto a DVD.
    • If you don't have ISO burning software, you can get a number of unsupported applications: the commercial Nero, Roxio, etc. Please note that these applications are not supported by CUIT.
  5. After the ISO has been recorded, restart your computer with the DVD you just burned.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation / configuration of Windows 7.
  7. After the installation of Windows 7 Enterprise is complete, follow the activation instructions to fully activate it.
